Course Description

090 is a Pass/Fail course. This course is focused on the learning and practicing of the general skills of English language, including Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking, vocabulary, and grammar. The homework, quizzes, midterm, and final exams will be relevant to the material covered in the textbooks. Students will learn and practice writing different styles or types of paragraphs; such as, simple (free-writing), story, contrast, and opinion paragraphs.

Assessment

  • Class Work 30% ( This includes: Attendance 5%, Homework 15%, Speech #1 5%, Speech #2 5%)
  • Quizzes 20% (the best 5 scores of 6 quizzes)
  • Midterm Exam 25%

Absence Policy

  • 10 hours (5 classes) = 1st Warning
  • 12 hours hours (6 classes) = 2nd Warning
  • 18 hours (9 classes) = Administrative Failure (FA)
  • Being Late: Being late three (3) times is the same as one absence
